PIMS supported "Albatross" Table Top Exercise 06/07

The Black Sea Initiative (BSI) Albatross 2006/07 Table Top Exercise (TTX) took place in Batumi, Georgia on February 12-15, 2007. A series of BSI Exercises were organized and conducted within the framework of the US Army Corps of Engineers' Civil-Military Emergency Preparedness (CMEP) Program. The objective was to enable the participating agencies to get better prepared for responding to either man-made or natural disasters in a coordinated way.

Delegations from Bulgaria, Moldova, Romania, Ukraine as well as the CMEP team participated in this Exercise. The Emergency Situations Management Center of Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Georgia was the main player from the Host Nation side. Various international organizations like EADRCC, UNOCHA, OPCW and IFRC as well as observers from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Croatia and Turkey were also presented.
